Florence… I love youSeptember 16th, 2008
Florence Foster Jenkins’s gamble has paid off: she counts among the 20th century’s best-known singers. Even 64 years after her death, it is possible to find recordings of her wrongdoings all along her 32 years career.
Some went as far as to write plays about her, but what fascinates me is that she still makes all of us smile, and that in the 21st century people still talk about this terrible american singer.
I can hardly believe that she could compare herself to the great singers at that time, despite what urban legends say. And you, what do you think about it? Gigantic hoax or megalomaniacal madness of a rich heiress?
